January 2026 Dog Den newsletter page 1: exciting news in our grooming department

Exciting News in Our Grooming Department!

We are starting out the new year with growing our grooming department and introducing more of a variety of services! Whether you’re looking for a standard shampoo wash, a de-shed service, a mini-groom, or a full-service haircut, we will have distinguished packages for you to choose from. And as always, all services will always include a nail trim and ear clean!

Not only will we be sprucing up our grooming services, but we’re growing our grooming team, making it easier than ever to get prompt appointments for your pup’s spa days! We’ll be seeing a new face, as well as the return of one of our veteran groomers. Give us a call at 801-875-9663 to get your pup scheduled.

Tennyson is the newest addition to our Dog Den team and you’ll see him both grooming and up at reception! He found his passion for grooming after bathing his Newfie and has been grooming since 2023. He loves grooming doodles especially, so get your curly pup booked with him. Tennyson has two dogs of his own, Balto and Archie, and also a cat named Rayne. When he’s not loving on your pups, you can find him hiking, gardening, and playing video games.

Meikala has been a part of the Dog Den family since we opened in June 2021! She has a long history of pet care and has been grooming since 2017. She has prioritized safety and building trusting relationships between her and her clients, ensuring as stress-free of an experience as possible. After taking a year off, she is back and ready to love on the pups again! Meikala has two dogs of her own, Thumper and Abu, and several guinea pigs. When she’s not making your pups look their best, you can find her hiking, camping, and spending time with her family.

January 2026 Dog Den newsletter page 2: monthly special, meet the staff Riley, featured furry friend Magpie

Monthly Special

Are some of your new year resolutions to work on training with your pup? Start the year off right with 15% off all training treats, training books and DVDs, leashes, and harnesses in our retail. Working on dog training, no matter the age, is a great way to build owner and pet relationships.

Meet the Staff: Riley

Riley has been a part of the Dog Den family for 3 years! You’ve mostly seen her loving on your dogs back in the daycare, but you will also be seeing her in grooming too. She is currently training with our grooming manager and has been starting to take clients, so if your pup is in need of a good bath and brush out, Riley is your go-to. Some of her strengths include her thorough work ethic and eye for detail.

Riley has two dogs of her own, Moose and Piper, and several ferrets. When she’s not playing with your pups, she enjoys cosplay, doll-collecting, and playing Dungeons & Dragons. We’re lucky to have Riley as part of our team, and we can’t wait to see her grooming career grow further!

Featured Furry Friend: Magpie

We get such a kick out of seeing dogs come in excited to see us; it’s one of our favorite things, and we cherish every time it happens! Little Miss Magpie comes in strutting her stuff, and once she’s taken back to daycare, she makes sure to greet everyone with tail wags and smiles. This kiddo just turned 12 years old, but you wouldn’t know it! She’s still spunky and just wants to be included in everyone’s adventures.

Even though she’s content to hang out with the other dogs and does love to snuggle with a sleep-mate, she is definitely a people’s dog! Her favorite place is on our laps and she loves to be carried around. If she could be anything in another life, she would be a parrot because she’s always perched on a kennel tech! Something else we love to see is the bond between owner and dog, and you can see that Magpie has such a special bond with her mom. They are each other’s best friend, and we’re grateful that her mom has shared Magpie with us for the last 4 years!

January 2026 Dog Den newsletter page 3: did you know, Date Night after-hours daycare, puppy education workshop, upcoming plans

Did You Know?

We are offering after-hours daycare

Introducing Date Night! Once a month, we offer after-hours daycare for those who want to enjoy a date night and need somewhere for their pup to go. That month it was hosted on Saturday, January 17th, with drop-offs from 6:00-6:30 pm and pick-ups from 10:00-10:30 pm. Your dog plays with their furry friends while also making a special craft to take home, all for only $25. Spots are limited, so call 801-875-9663 to sign your pup up.

We hosted a puppy education workshop

On Monday, January 26th at 6:30 pm, we held an education workshop all about puppies! One of our owners, Shane, specializes in dog behavior and training, and hosted the workshop. Attendees learned about puppy behaviors, potential fear periods, enrichment, developmental stages, and more, completely free to the public.

Your dog can get free Crunchy O’s in our retail

Until March 31st, you could get a free 6oz bag of Fromm Crunchy O’s when buying any Fromm Gold dog kibble in our retail. If your dog has tried the treats from our treat bowl at the front desk, then your pup has likely fallen in love with Crunchy O’s! We carry 8 different flavors. Fromm is family-owned, prioritizing quality ingredients, safety, and sustainability.

Our upcoming plans this year

With the new year, we shared some of our upcoming plans on how we want to best provide for you and your pups’ needs. Outside daycare yards: we extremely appreciate how patient you have been while our timeline got pushed back; they will be happening this year. Puppy enrichment: an extra service for puppies to focus on mental stimulation, motor skills, and grooming socialization. Scent spaces: areas for one-on-one scent-based mental stimulation.
